While competing at the 2025 Prairie Winter International in Winnipeg, Daniel Fang broke multiple records across several events to claim December Athlete of the Month.

Fang competed in the 13U 100-metre breaststroke event and 100-m individual medley, while securing gold and silver-medal finishes, respectively. In the process, he broke the provincial record twice in each event, once in preliminary action and then again in finals.

He also tied a provincial record in the 13U 50-m breaststroke event, finishing top of the podium. In addition, Fang tallied a total of seven medals after also swimming to gold in the 200-m breaststroke, silver in the 200-m individual medley and 100-m fly, as well as bronze in the 50-m fly event.
